Watercolor cattail

One last quick post on this month. I wish I could say that I was creative and made up this design on my self but sadly not. I saw a video in Benny Black Inc YouTube channel and just had to copy the idea. Sparkle N Sprinkle revealed perfect silhouette stamp sets for that: Wetlands 1 and Wetlands 2.

Images are stamped with Versamark ink to a watercolor cardstock and they are heat embossed with Black Detail Embossing Powder. For coloring I used different Distress Inks: Ground Espresso, Vintage Photo, Tea Dye, Seedless Preserves, Blueprint Sketch and Salty Ocean. To make the inks inside of the 'window' to shimmer I spritzed a Perfect Pearl Mist to the craft mat and used it instead of the water. That gave a nice sheen to the distress ink colors. After all inks was dried I covered the 'window' with piece of scrap paper and stamped the leaves with Tea Dye ink to the background.

For the matting layer I took a white cardstock and colored the edges with black marker. Then I adhered 1/4" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape all around the edges and placed the colored layer in center. Rest of the tape was covered with  Black Suede glitter.
To add a little more brightness to my card I used Die-Versions Loopy Lace Die to die cut a border out of Sticker Paper. Sticker paper was covered with Ocean glitter.

Materials used:
Stamp Credits: Wetlands 2 #791, Wetlands 1 #790;
Embossing Powders: Black Detail (EP171);
Glitters: Ocean (G1126), Black Suede (GM2009);
Inks: Distress Ink (Ground Espresso, Vintage Photo, Tea Dye, Seedless Preserves, Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean), Memento (Desert Sand), Versamark;
Dies: Die-Versions (Loopy Lace);
Adhesives: Sticker Paper (99558), 1/4" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape (SAT01);
Cardstock: Watercolor CS, White;
Others: Perfect Pearl Mists (Perfect Pearl);

Thank you for the visit!

Wetlands

I was very excited then Sparkle N Sprinkle revealed those two stamp sets: Wetlands 1 #790, Wetlands 2 #791. They are amazing! I used both of them to make this simple card.

Stamping is done with StazOn Black Jet ink. After the scene was created I took bunch of Distress Inks and started to add colors. For the sky I used Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral, Seedless Preserves, Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean. Actually water is also colored with same inks but main color was Salty Ocean while for the sky it was Seedless Preserves.

I didn't want to add any embellishment on this card. I just stamped the sentiment with Versamark in and heat embossed it with Gold Detail embossing powder. Matting layer is also inked with Versamark in and heat embossed with same powder to match the sentiment.

Those same stamp sets are also available as digital sets: Wetland 1 Digi and Wetland 2 Digi.

Materials used:
Stamp Credits: Wetlands 1 #790, Wetlands 2 #791;
Embossing Powders: Gold Detail (EP168);
Inks: StazOn (Jet Black), Distress Inks (Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral, Seedless Preserves, Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean), Versamark;
Cardstock: White;

Thank you fo the visit!

Christmas Skates

Sparkle N Sprinkle released many stunning stamp sets this month. Among them was this beautiful Christmas Skates #789.

I played with Christmas Skates Digital version. It was printed out and colored with Promarkers. On top of the berries I added Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops. Around the oval edge I added Crystal Ice Glitter with Sakura Glue Pen.

Background paper is made with the sentiment from the Christmas Skates Digi set. I changed the sentiment color and covered piece of paper with them. After printing it out I inked it with Broken China Distress Ink. I also added Versamark ink to the edges, sprinkled Sparkle Embossing Powder on top and heat embossed.

Behind the image layer I die cutted Holly Sprays with Creative Expressions dies. I keptthem white and just added Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops on top.

Matting layers are covered with Teal Velveteen glitter. To embellish the card I added some pearls and piece of lace.

Materials used:
Stamp Credits: Christmas Skates #789 Digi;
Embossing Powders: Sparkle (EP107);
Glitters: Teal Velveteen (GM2017), Crystal Ice (G1058);

Milton Catching Snowflakes

It's very refreshing to make winter cards on hot summer days. Today I have one more card to share with new July Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp set. For this card I used new Milton Catching Snowflakes #787 Digital stamp.

Milton is cutest giraffe ever! I colored him with Promarkers. His scarfs are covered with Sakura Glue Pen and Sonic Silver and Waterfall glitters.

Sentiment is also from same digital set. It's sized to fit the Spellbinders Labels Eighteen die cut. I inked it's edges with Broken China Distress Ink.

To make the snowflakes I used MemoryBox Twilight Snowflakes dies. Snowflakes are die cut out from Sticker Paper. Some of them are covered with Sonic Silver and Cloud Nine microfine glitters. I also added a big dot of Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops to their centers.

I added some sparkle to the background paper with Sakura Glue Pen and Cloud Nine glitter. Snowflake border is die cutted with Joy Crafts die out of Sticker Paper and it's covered also with Cloud Nine glitter.

Edges of the matting layers are covered with 1/4" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape and Reflection glitter.

Materials used:
Stamp Credits: Milton Catching Snowflakes #787 Digi;
Glitters: Cloud Nine (GM2000), Sonic Silver (GM2002), Waterfall (G1071), Reflection (GM2007);
Inks: Distress Ink (Broken China);

I used digital version (DIGI797) from the new Deer Duo stamp set #797. Such a cute Christmas image. Well.. you could even use it on an anniversary card... why didn't I think of it sooner... I guess I was in a Christmas card mode...

Image is colored with Promarkers. I added Nuvo Crystal Drops as an accents. Morning Dew was added to their noses, to the heart and the bells. Pearl White was added to her earrings and necklace.

I made an old pattern paper a bit fancier by adding Crystal Ice glitter with Sakura Glue Pen to the hearts. After that I covered glittered hearts with Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Holly Sprays are die cutted out of white cardstock. I colored the berries with red marker and added Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops on top. After it was dry, I inked everything with Peeled Paint and Pine Needles Distress Inks. Crystal Drops resist to the ink and result is a pretty green foliage with dimensional red berries.

Edges of the matting layers are covered with 1/4" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape and Lator Gator Microfine Glitter. For the circular matting layer  I covered piece of white cardstock with 2 1/2" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape and used a circle die to die cut it out. It is also covered with Lator Gator glitter. Most of the times I use white cardstock for matting layers. I just color the sides of them with marker which match the glitter. This way no white is peeking from the sides.

We hope you enjoy the New Reveal Blog Hop as much as we do.  Thanks for joining us and remember to visit and comment on each of the eight Designers' blogs to be eligible for the Grand Prize. (Checked for compliance.)
