Chocolate Pocket Card

Hello my friends! I'm very happy to finally say: Welcome Spring! Sun is shining and snow is almost gone. Even the Snowdrops and Snowflakes came out under the snow without any harm. They are blooming and are so pretty. But now, to my spring theme project. I love card making, chocolate and blue color. Because of that, I decided to make a chocolate pocket and use lots of blues on it. So here it is.

On this project I used one of my favorite stamp set - Shabby Chic Birdhouse. There are so pretty images and wonderful sentiments. It's just pure joy to use them.

Image is colored with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I added some Dimensional Glue to the Bird House ornamented edge and sprinkled Lavender Iris Glitter on top. I colored the ribbons behind the roses with Sakura Glue Pen and added Fascination and Waterfall Glitters on top. Image is attached to the Floral Oval with foam tape. Behind the image layer I put a blue fuzzy yarn.

Inside of the card is a pocket for chocolate.

My card holds my favorite Estonian chocolate - Milk chocolate with plum and biscuit. Mmm... it's delicious. Ok, back to the card....

Edges of the pattern papers are ink with Tea Dye Distress Ink. After that I applied lots of Versamark to the edges and heat embossed with Sparkle EP. Because there can never have too much sparkle I draw few lines to the pattern paper with Sakura Glue Pen and added Waterfall Glitter on top :) Floral Oval is inked with Broken China Distress Ink. All the butterflies used on my project are punched out from Sticker Paper. Pink Butterflies are covered with Bubble Gum Glitter and blue butterfly on front cover is covered with Waterfall Glitter.

Sparkling matting layers are made with Tear-ific Tape, Fascination and Waterfall Glitters. These two glitters goes together so well. To make the matting layer I took piece of white cardstock and colored the edges with light blue marker. Then I placed 1/4" Double Sided "Tear-ific" Tape to the edges, removed protective layer, placed patterned paper in center and covered rest of the tape with glitters. Or you can just use colored cardstock. Because Waterfall glitter is semi-transparent I prefer to have blue cardstock under it (on this project).

Cool thing about embossing powders is that you can make your own custom color brads with them. Just tip the brad to the Versamark Ink and add EP on top. After heating it with heat, gun you have brad that mach your project. Because the Cotton Candy EP (I used it on my brad) is semi-transparent it's good idea to use light brad. Or if you only have dark brads use White EP first and then add semi-transparent EP.

I made the tassel my self out of white twine. With help of the fork I got perfect size tassel. After it was finished I tipped in to the Caribbean Blue Glimmer Mist to re color the twine. After drying it was too dark, so I washed some color off with warm water. I'm very pleased how it turned out. I applied Dimensional Glue to some parts of the tassel and sprinkled Waterfall Glitter on top to add sparkle.

Here is one photo that shows all the lovely sparkle. Tassel string will go around the brad to keep the card closed. The sentiment is stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Satin Velvet EP. I love how it shimmer.

You can find full directions of how I made this card from SNS Gallery here. If you just need a template you can get it from here. On the template are exact measurements of my project. Then you make your own pocket card, just measure your chocolate and make your project according to them.

A Friend

Hello my friends! Today I'd like to show you a card I made in the beginning of February. That time I was waiting our first flowers to bloom - Snowdrops and Snowflakes. They are very pretty and give hope that soon other colorful flowers will start to show their beauty. Our white flowers are blooming for few weeks now, but for Today they are all frozen - winter came back.

A day before I made this card a package arrived and it has a lovely flower dies (Blooms Four) from Spellbinder. I just had to try them out. I love these flower you can make with them. For my card I made three flowers. They all are a bit different from each other. Center of each die-cut is inked with Memento Dandelion ink. After assembling the flowers I added a pearl to the middle.

Leaves are also cut with new die - Sprigs by Spellbinder. I placed a 2 1/2" Tearif-ific tape to a strip of white cardstock and die cut two branches with leaves and one swirly sprig. After removing the protective sheet I covered sticky tape with Luau Green Microfine Glitter and burnished it in.
Tiny flower are made with Martha Stewart Flower box around the page punch. They are actually leftovers but I used them instead the border which for the punch is made for. Flowers are toned with Dandelion ink and I put small drops of Viva Pearl Pen in center of the.

Most awesome part about this card is the background. Sticker Paper was covered with Twinkling Clouds Sparkle N Soft. It feels so soft and nice. Then I placed it between the embossing folder and run it through the die-cutting machine.

Sentiment is from Shabby Chic Birdhouse Stamp Set #481. It's stamped with Tuxedo Black ink. Banner is hand cut and inked with Pear Tart Ink.
You can see full directions how this card is made in here.

You still have 9 days to participate in the Sparkle N Sprinkle March Challenge. You can make anything as long as you use loose glitter or embossing powder on your project.

Iris Frame

Hello my friends! Today I'd like to share with you a card made with Irish Frame. It's a new stamp set revealed on March 1st. On my Tri-fold card I used same stamp in two different ways.

For the card front I covered piece of Sticker Paper with Daisy Velvet Glitter. After burnishing the glitter in and brushing off the excess glitter, I stamped the Irish Frame with Memento Tuxedo black on top of glitter. Image was colored with Promarkers.

To keep my Tri-fold card closed I made a fun little lock to it. Strip of cardstock is glued to the back side of the card. Rest of the strip will tuck nicely behind the band hidden with the butterfly. I apologize my bad English. I hope the following picture will help you understand what I'm talking about.

Card closed with a "lock"/ side view of the lock band
I cut a window in to the card front. This lovely butterfly on the card front is punched out from the Sticker Paper and covered with Lacy Lilac Glitter.

The second flap I stamped the frame with Versamark ink to the purple cardstock. But because this stamp is wider then my cardstock I masked both edges of the CS before stamping. After covering the stamped image with White Detail embossing powder and removing the mask I heated the powder until it melted. Then I took my Versamarker pen and ruler and draw the missing frame lines. They was also heat embossed with White Detail embossing powder.
Flowers was colored with Sakura Glue Pen and covered with Daisy Velvet glitter. Same glitter is also on the butterfly, punched from Sticker Paper.

Sentiment is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink to the white cardstock. I added Dimensional Glue all around the edges and covered glue with Daisy Velvet Glitter. I also made some small dots to it with Sakura Glue Pen, they are covered with same Daisy Glitter. Sentiment is popped up with foam tape.

On the following photo you can get a better idea about this card.

I really should star checking how the photos came out before sending the cards away :) The photo of the inside was too foggy, so you just have to accept the close up of the top-right corner. I made the inside panel same way as the sentiment layer: Dimensional Glue is added all around the edges and covered with Daisy  Glitter. Small dots are made with Sakura Glue Pen and I covered them with Daisy Glitter again. Small butterfly is punched out of Sticker Paper and covered with Lacy Lilac Glitter.
If your sharp eye has noticed dark edge around the White CS layer, what's because I took an Aubergine Promarker and run it against all sided to mimic the the border of the Iris Frame stamp.

You can find full directions how to make this card in the SNS Gallery here.
This is it for today. Hope you are having a lovely weekend! And happy International Women's Day to all of you.

Think Pink

Hello my sweet friends! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. My yesterday's scheduled post didn't went up on time, let's see what happens with this one :)

I believe you already know what happens on the first Sunday of the month... It's time for a new challenge at the Stamping Sensation. We have a very easy theme for this month Think Pink. As always, we have a fantastic prize for Design Team favorite project.

On my today's card I played with embossing powders, distress inks and die cuts. Some of the die cuts I heat embossed with different EPs and others I inked to add a bit color on them.
You may want to take a closer look of the card. There are fun little splatters made with embossing powders.

Can you see thewhite net behind the flowers? It's a drywall joint tape. Love how it looks on the card and it's so easy to adhere it. You are going to see a lot of this on my cards :)

Background is stamped with Honeycomb stamp and Versamark ink. I covered the ink with Clear EP and heat embossed it. To add color I rubbed Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick inks to the plastic sheet, sprayed it with water and placed the embossed paper over the ink. After ink was dry I sprayed more water on top to get splattered look. It is strange how on photo you can see mostly Tattered Rose ink, but on real it is more Worn Lipstick color.

Now hop over to Stamping Sensation Blog to see how can you participate in this fab challenge.

Materials used:
Stamp: Alots Rubber Stamps - Honeycomb;
Embossing Powders: SNS - Clear Detail, Silver Detail, White Detail;

Sparkle N Sprinkle's March 1 Reveal

Welcome to Sparkle N Sprinkle's March 1 Reveal.

Hello my friends! February went past so fast. It's a new month and that means we have new wonderful stamps to play with.

This month we are featuring five versatile stamp sets.
Two of the sets are perfect for Christmas.
Many of our customers said they promise themselves to make Christmas cards a little bit each month, all year long, but they fail to find the time. So this month's technique kit uses the pretty Red Cardinal drawn by Rosiland Solomon.
The Winter Cardinal stamp set is available by itself on line.
It is also included in Jazzy Jill's Technique Video for the month.

The first of the month also means a new challenge at SNS Creative Challenges where the theme is always
"Anything Goes with Loose Glitter, Embossing Powder and/or Flocking."
Five Winners (one for each new stamp set) will be selected by Random.org during the Designers Mystery Party. Winners will also get to choose one Glitter and one Embossing Powder to go with their new stamp set.

I used fabulous Born to Shop #554 stamp to make my shadow box card. You can find full directions of my card here

All the windows are covered with Glossy Accents. The glitter I used is Lacy Lilac.

All stamping is done with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Image is colored with Pro- and Flexmarkers. Sentiment layer is inked with Tea Dye ink and I draw some lines with marker to make it look like a wood sign.

Here's a side view of my card.
Do you wonder how the Mystery Party works:
On Five of the participating blogs below, a Commenter will be selected to receive the prize
No one knows who the five Mystery Designers are, so you may wish to visit each blog to leave a comment.
